{"id":117,"date":"2013-03-17T20:32:34","date_gmt":"2013-03-18T01:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/homepages.uc.edu\/~yaozo\/wordpress\/?p=117"},"modified":"2013-03-17T20:32:34","modified_gmt":"2013-03-18T01:32:34","slug":"spatial-statistics-resources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zhuoyao.net\/index.php\/2013\/03\/17\/spatial-statistics-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"Spatial Statistics Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/help.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgisdesktop\/10.0\/help\/#\/Spatial_Statistics_toolbox_sample_applications\/005p00000004000000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spatial Statistics toolbox<\/a>\u00a0contains statistical tools for analyzing spatial distributions, patterns, processes, and relationships.\u00a0 While there may be similarities between spatial and non-spatial (traditional) statistics in terms of concepts and objectives, spatial statistics are unique in that they were developed specifically for use with geographic data.\u00a0 Unlike traditional non-spatial statistical methods, they incorporate space (proximity, area, connectivity, and\/or other spatial relationships) directly into their mathematics. There are a ton of resources about using and understanding Spatial Statistics, and here on the Spatial Statistics team we want to make sure that everyone knows where to find them. We also want to make sure that everyone knows that if you have ArcGIS, you already have the Spatial Statistics toolbox, as well as the source code for most of the tools in it.\u00a0 The Spatial Statistics tools are\u00a0not\u00a0an extension, and with the exception of only 2 tools*, every tool in the toolbox is available at all license levels!
